As YWN posted earlier this week, HaRav Mordechai Ze’ev Wosner, Rosh Yeshiva of Chernobyl Boro Park was assaulted at the entrance to Camp Kavunas Halev, 249 Ferndale Loomis Rd., Liberty, N. Y. by an unknown male subject. He sustained injuries to his head and face, and was transported to the hospital by Catskills Hatzolah.
The assailant is described as a short white male, with either blond or red hair, wearing either a white shirt or a white shirt with bold horizontal stripes and possibly shorts.
The New York State Police are continuing the investigation into the assault, the motivation for which is undetermined at this time. The attached composite sketch of the suspect was created with information supplied by the victim of the crime.

There is a Ukrainian camp right next door to Camp Chaye Sura in Glen Spey. There are other Russian bungalow colonies in the Catskills. This guy has Slavic looks. Wouldn’t those places be the best places to look first?

3 initial calls to the police indicated that the assailant was a worker at the camp. My guess is this is one of the Eastern European laborers the camps pay off the books and that there is some sort of coverup going on because of it.
