A Manhattan lawyer is charging that he witnessed a child conducting a subway train.
According to the Daily News, lawyer Jules Cattie says the incident happened on an uptown Lexington Avenue express train Sunday.
Cattie says when he got on the train, he heard the female operator talking to someone. He says when the train stopped at 14th Street, a young boy walked out of the cab and made an announcement about train traffic.
Cattie says when he looked back inside the cab, it appeared that the boy was running the controls, so he snapped a picture with his cell phone.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority flatly forbids anyone but its employees from being in the cab.
The agency says it is investigating and that the operator will be pulled from duty if Cattie’s claims are confirmed.
