Effective tonight, Monday, July 13th, the Department of Transportation will begin a major resurfacing project on the Belt Parkway’s approaches to the Mill Basin Drawbridge. The work includes subsurface repairs and installation of new asphalt and pavement markings.
Starting at 11 p.m., work will begin on the left lane of the eastbound roadway, followed by the closure of the center lane at 1 a.m. The work will shift lanes and proceed every night until completion. Work on the westbound lanes will immediately follow this phase.
The project is expected to conclude on or about August 31st. Traffic will NOT be detoured off the parkway onto local streets. The pedestrian/bike path will remain open at all times.
Lane Closures Effective July 13
11 p.m. – 5 a.m. – Left lane of the eastbound Belt Parkway
1 a.m. – 5 a.m. – Center lane of the eastbound Belt Parkway
All lanes will re-open 5 a.m. Monday through Friday ( 8 a.m. on Saturday).

Why does this city have to make evryones life miserable? I suggest that the city of New York do all highway construction for three days staright and let everyone NOT take their cars for three days on our highways and get the construction overwith.
I am 90 years old and all I want is to see one day with no construction on our highways in this city.
