No wonder they call it Williams-BURG!
Burglars ransacked the Southside, East Williamsburg, and Bushwick this week, raiding at least 16 residences between June 22 and June 28, police told the Brooklyn Paper.
The number of break-ins skyrocketed compared to the previous week — when crooks broke into five homes — and the same seven-day period last year — when thieves only raided two residences.
“The 90th Precinct experienced a rash of burglaries this week,” said Community Affairs Officer Tommy Brown, who urged North Brooklynites to lock their windows, doors, and vestibules before leaving their homes.
“Most of them are pretty simple, with perps going in through fire escape windows,” he added.
But that hasn’t made the crimes any less horrifying for Williamsburg and Bushwick residents.
