2:40PM EST: [PHOTO LINK BELOW] At least two people have been arrested in Kiryas Joel & a mini-riot erupted moments ago, after an incident involving O&R (Orange and Rockland) Electric Company, YWN has learned.

According to initial reports, a group of people were hanging up lights and signs in the streets in preparation of tonight’s Chasunah for an Einikle of the Satmar Rebbe Shlita of Kiryas Yoel. While they were working, the electric company arrived and a fight erupted between them. Dozens of people converged on the scene, the NY State Police arrived, and at least two people were arrested.

As of this posting, eggs and other projectiles were being tossed towards police, and YWN has learned that one of those arrested has been released.
