Authorities say a man was shot and wounded after he ran into a New York City police station with a knife and stabbed someone.
The suspect, Armando Torres, reportedly walked into the lobby of 109th precinct in Queens and stabbed a civilian woman in the arm. According to police, Torres then turned and began to approach officers within the precinct, prompting them to open fire, striking the suspect three times, including in the chest.
The suspect was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
No officers were seriously hurt, though police say at least four people suffered minor injuries.
The condition of the woman stabbed is still unknown. Police are trying to determine what caused Torres to stab the woman, and whether they knew each other.
