The NYPD has arrested a man they said ran down a traffic agent in an attempt to evade a parking ticket.
Anthony Grullon, 26, was arrested on charges of assault and leaving the scene of an accident.
The traffic agent, Sabrina Torez, was hospitalized in guarded condition with broken legs and a head injury. Police said she was about to write a ticket for a double-parked car when the motorist ran to the vehicle, got in and tried to drive away.
As he made his escape, the car knocked the agent to the ground and then drove over her, crushing her legs.
It’s not clear whether the man has a lawyer, and he has no listed phone number.
The NYPD has a uniformed force strength of over 37,000.

This will put the fear into traffic agents that they may be run over if they attempt to prevent a vehicle from leaving.
It doesn’t sound like it was deliberate.
