A travel expert recently wrote about a frequent flier complaining about the quality of his meal on board an airliner and that he “would do well to order a kosher meal that seems to be much improved.” While kosher travelers still have their share of horror stories, they agree that the kosher fare on international flights is much improved.
A passenger on a New York – London flight complained that he was served a kosher for Passover meal almost two weeks after the holiday. He wrote KosherToday that the meal on the return trip by Hermolis “was exceptional.”
Passengers flying out of Tel Aviv are giving high marks to Hamasbia while European travelers say that for the most part local caterers in countries like Austria, France, and Belgium are delivering a superb product. The improvements, say travelers, are evident not only in Business Class, where the meals were always better, but also in Economy.
In a more recent development a new venture was launched in Canada.
Hamasbia Canada brings together Toronto-based Cara Airline Solutions, one of North America’s largest airline caterers, and Hamasbia Foods of Israel. Prepared under the supervision of the MK Mehadrin (Montreal Kosher), the menu includes meat, dairy, pareve and fish options. HamasbiaCanada will be the kosher food choice for travelers on many airlines, including El Al and all Air Canada flights departing from Eastern Canadian airports.

The worst meals come out of New York its just big garbige & a waist of money but no one to talk too.
Something has to be done with the meals coming out of NY, if we all kick up a fuss with the airlines things might change…….its an absolute disgrace the we are served such garbage, and in all classes….CLOSE DOWN WHO EVER MAKES THE FOOD
According to the Wall Street Journal, most airlines are being especially nice to their remaining customers since the demand has fallen greatly and they have to keep their customers happy. If the economy improves, resulting in an increase in passengers, I’m sure the airlines will go back to being obnoxious.
YWN, please put in spell check on your comment blog.
1: I would think the word “Garbage” is a bit of a bizayon for the food, no? Isn’t the main thing where you’re going? 4: Spell check, spell check, where’s your substance?
The European meals are far superior. Actually the term “garbage” may not be inaccurate – I have received spoiled food and food that was otherwise not edible.
Be happy you can afford to fly. In the future, take your own meal aboard if you don’t like the food and ask for a credit for the meals a head of time, or better, donate the meal to a family aboard the flight. 🙂

When flying out of London, love the Hermolis meals; They’re always excellent. When I travelled to the Far East, my company had Hermolis meals Air freighted there on Dry ice for me.
spellcheck is on the google toolbar and works for any thing u type on the page
The flights from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Europe have gefilter fish and chrain in it, Now how fresh can that be?!?!
Hermolis is still undisputedly top of the range. Keep it up!
6: so your personal experience now enables you to be motzi shem ra b’rabim?
I really think the European meals are the best, Weiss’s (American) is pretty good, but, the Israeli meal (not sure which brand, maybe there’s only one) is anoi raoi lachilas kelev (Actually, if you gave it to your dog, it’s probably tzar baali chayim)
