Hatzolah of Los Angeles recently received 3 more “Code 3” vehicle permits from the California Highway Patrol which would allow those vehicles to respond with emergency lights and siren to calls, ultimately shortening their response time.
Every response vehicle carries a full set of medical and trauma equipment as well as an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Hatzolah of LA’s current fleet consists of 2 ambulances (although transport permits are still being worked on), a disaster supplies truck (to handle mass casualty incidents), an equipment transport SUV (SV-2), and several trailers that are equipped to handle mass casualty incidents. Hatzolah’s first Support Vehicle (SV-1) was a Toyota FJ Cruiser, and now a Nissan Xterra has been added as SV-3.
Two more response vehicles will be added to the fleet in the near future.
