There’s been another mishap involving a movie being shot in New York City.
At 3:30AM, a car not involved with the filming jumped the sidewalk and slammed into a production crew meeting, sending nine people to the hospital.
Police say a BMW SUV traveling south on 7th Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets jumped the curb after swerving to avoid striking a yellow taxi, and struck nine production crew members.
The SUV’s driver told reporters the accident happened when she tried to avoid hitting a taxi cab and instead struck a parked car.
The crew had just finished shooting for the night and the street had reopened to traffic.
Emergency response crews rushed to the scene of the accident, where a large group of people had gathered to help those who sustained injuries.
“The streets shouldn’t have been open, we had the streets until 5:30,” said Hameen Rasul, of the production team.
Police say none of the injuries appear to be life threatening and no charges will be filed against the driver.
The night before, a Ferrari crashed into a restaurant blocks away from Wednesday’s accident during filming of a chase scene for the same movie.
