NYS Gov. David Paterson is expected to introduce legislation to legalize “alernative-lifestyle” marriage, reviving a bill that died in 2007 and still faces strong opposition despite a new Democratic majority in the state Senate.
The Democrat has backed the measure, saying in radio interviews he believes it will ultimately become law and that it should be debated publicly.
He’s expected to introduce the bill Thursday, according to two legislative officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because there’s been no formal announcement.
The Democrat-controlled Assembly passed the bill two years ago, when it failed in the Republican Senate.
Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith supports the measure, but his spokesman says Tuesday they don’t believe there are enough votes to pass it.

Oy!! He’s spiritually blind too!!!
The big question is: How is Agudah voting? For or against the Gays? anyone have an answer?
Actually, he can only endorse it – only members of the legislature can introduce bills. Patterson is saying he’ll sign it if the legislature passes it.
Perhaps he should be put to the test then….
For those who like to think that the U.S. will be around forever… this is what caused the fall of the Greek and Roman Empires.
ITS BAD ENOUGH,10 YEARS AGO ONE WOULDNT DARE TO TALK ABOUT IT . ‘KI HISHCHIS KOL BOSAR DARKO AL HUARETZ’.THEN WE WONDER ABOUT 9/11, KATRINA, ECONOMIC COLLAPSE ETC. ‘IS DIN VEIS DAYEN’
If the Torah would not forbid it and call it disgusting,no one would care. When the world reaches the 50th level of tum’a,the ge’ula will HAVE to come. Let’s just us Jews work on ourselves and not worry about the rest of the world.

#7, how dare you write that! I have been following some contributors to this site for a while already, and you always seem to add your liberlistic, left wing view every single time! How dare you contribute to something called YESHIVA WORLD, and think that such contributions have anything to do with that! If Hashem calls it a To’eiva, that mean sthat is by nature as such, for EVERYBODY, and to think that such permissiveness does not affect even someone as yourself – well, you are surely mistaken! Do you have any idea how much effort Rav Avigdor Miller Zatzal spent to fight against these destroyers of society, and you, in one permissive stroke can be so flippant and condone these elements?
Secondly, Judaism does not believe in just letting the world go to pot so that Mashiach can come! If that would be so, than the fooloish argument can be made, saying, well, the Gemara in Sotah says that Mashiach will come either when the world is either “Kulo Zakai” or “Kulo Chayav”, and since we know that it is never going to be “Kulo Zakai”, so let us all sin and bring Mashiach! Chas V’Shalom! We need to do do what is RIGHT, and we have precedents from our Gedolim that we must fight these creatans who call themselves peolpe with all of our might!
Comment#2, do you know what “Pesach” stands for? Pe Sach, on this Yom Tov especially, we watch what our mouths say. We should all learn something from this Yom Tov.
