4:00PM EST: UPDATES BELOW The FDNY is on the scene in Staten Island and are battling a large brush fire that has spread to at least six homes, which are reportedly fully involved. The fire is in the area of Mill Road and Aviston Street – in the Oakwood Beach section of Staten Island.
The fire is continuing to move, and other structures are in danger.
Thick plumes of smoke are visible from as far away as Boro Park, New Jersey & Manhattan.
No injuries have been reported.
UPDATE 6:30PM EST: The massive fire has been contained, and the cause is under investigation.

Traffic was tied up for miles from the Verrazano all the ways to Queens. What would have normally taken me 45 minutes to drive back from Queens took me an hour and a half! Impossible!!!!
