New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine continues to trail the Republican front-runner as he officially filed papers to run for re-election.
A Fairleigh Dickinson-PublicMind Poll released Tuesday shows nearly half of the registered voters surveyed disapprove of the incumbent Democrat’s performance.
Independents disapprove by more than two to one.
Republican Chris Christie continues to lead Corzine by nine percentage points in a head-to-head matchup.
Corzine runs even with former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan. Christie leads Lonegan among Republican voters polled by two-to-one.
The telephone poll of 809 registered voters was taken March 30-April 5 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.=
