Passaic, NJ – A new group is trying to save the City of Passaic’s last remaining hospital.
St. Mary’s Hospital filed for bankruptcy this month. The move jarred a community that lost its two other hospitals over the past six years.
Union leaders, politicians and others say the St. Mary’s needs to stay in business because of its status as the city’s last hospital.
The operation is for sale.
The coalition says a buyer needs to be found fast.
Twenty-seven New Jersey hospitals have shut down since 1992.
