New Jersey – A group of employees from Chubb Insurance in Whitehouse Station have been identified as the holders of the winning $216 million Mega Millions ticket sold in New Jersey, CBS 2 reports.
A source close to the man who bought the ticket for the group confirmed exclusively via telephone to CBS 2 that 10 workers from the Readington Township company were involved in the combined ticket pool. Mega Millions officials have not confirmed or released the identities of the winners yet, however.
According to New Jersey Lottery spokesman Dominick DeMarco, the winning ticket was sold at a gas station in Toms River.
The ticket was sold at Singin Oil. Store manager Taner Cetintas says he hasn’t been notified by lottery officials yet, but hopes his store sold the ticket.
The winners stand to split about $8.1 million a year, before taxes, for the next 26 years as an annuity. The cash option is worth about $140 million before Uncle Sam’s share is extracted.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot of $390 million was March 6, 2007, shared by winners in New Jersey and Georgia.
The winning numbers were: 26, 32, 35, 43, 52 and the Mega Ball was 10.
