Vandals broke into the Bnei Akiva branch in Nazareth Illit and caused significant damage.
When volunteers arrived in the office earlier this week they saw the damage from the break-in, which included national flags that were disgraced, paint splashed all over, furniture turned over, broken florescent bulbs, and sifrei kodesh set ablaze.
When fourth graders arrived there on Tuesday afternoon Rosh Chodesh Sivan for their weekly activities they break-in was detected. The vandals broke anything and everything they could.
The branch has been operating in the city for forty years. Officials explain the demographics in the city are not simple as in recent years the Arab population has grown significantly. Many Jewish residents have left the city, preferring to move to nearby Afula. While there are still torani groups operating in the city for the past five years, as well as a hesder yeshiva, the situation for the Jewish community remains complex and difficult.
