Heavy snow has caused travel chaos in London as bus services were suspended, trains were cancelled and delayed, and some airport runways temporarily closed.
Meteorologists said some parts of the country, including London and other parts of south East England, could be covered by up to 15 centimetres of snow by noon on Monday.
So far, this winter has been Britain’s coldest in over a decade and forecasters expect the cold weather to continue for several more days.
“All London buses have been withdrawn from service due to adverse weather and dangerous road conditions,” Transport for London said on its website.
An army of snow ploughs were working to clear roads as much of the UK was blanketed in snow.
London Transport suspended its bus services because of dangerous conditions on the roads.
Gatwick Airport and London City Airport were both temporarily shut as their runways were de-iced.
A total of 23 flights were cancelled and 18 diverted from Gatwick as a result of the weather, affecting five British Airways and EasyJet flights landing at Glasgow and Edinburgh airports last night.
Flights to London City Airport were diverted to Heathrow and Luton.

Unfortunatly Shul attendence was down this morning. It is nevertheless heartwarming to see most of the people out on the streets those holding tefillin, on their way to Minyan.
Where’s Global Warming when you need it?
The word is “wreaks” not “wrecks.” This just makes you sound stupid.
