Some survivors of the U.S. Airways flight that was forced to make an emergency landing in the Hudson River earlier this month say they are upset about what the airline is doing to compensate them after their harrowing ordeal.
The New York Post reports the passengers of Flight 1549 received letters from the airline offering them a year of first-class status.
The upgrade allows each passenger and a companion to fly first class when seats are available on domestic flights, as well as one upgrade to Europe or Hawaii for choice seats.
Some survivors who spoke with the New York Post say a year is not long enough; they should at least get the free upgrades for life.
Others say the upgrades are useless because they never plan to fly again.
The passengers were also given $5,000 to compensate for lost luggage.

If they would have been given a free jet for “Compensation” they would ask for two.
Be happy your alive!
Welcome to the American “Whinocracy” the Goldena Medina is now the K’fuyei Tov Medina.
i hear them.. but B”h they were saved miracle!!
The accident happened because of birds sent by the One Above. No fault of the airline whatsoever. Moreover, because of the skill (b’siyata dishmaya) of the pilot he saved their lives!! Why on earth should the airline compensate. This is typical of people just trying to make a quick buck and not being grateful.
this proves the “give me” attitude being perpetrated by americans. take take take….if there’s no money, spend more that we dont have…give me give me. like big fat babies
they want first class tickets for there whole life ?
Isn’t it enough that they got life
I wonder what the halocha is? Since this is לכאורא an אונס….
Each passenger should pay the airline just 10% of the amount he was ready to pay to save himself 5 minutes before the crash.
Tell them to jump in a “Lake” if they don’t like rivers!!! Unbelievable!
Question- Aren’t there precedents as for compensation after a crash? Why is there even room to demand more? Unless the other cases got more?
