An NYPD Traffic Agent issuing a parking ticket was pelted with green peppers by the vehicle’s owner in Borough Park. The agent issued the summons because the car was blocking the crosswalk at 13th Avenue and 38th Street, the NYPD told the NY Post.
Suddenly, Ale Elawar, 43, dashed out of a nearby store yelling obscenities at the agent.
Elawar then dumped a container of peppers on the agent’s jacket and drove off, authorities say.
The agent gave Elawar’s registration information to a cop, who contacted the pepper head. Elawar surrendered and was charged with menacing and obstructing governmental administration.

As a veteran pedestrian, few things are more annoying and rude than people who block the crosswalk. Ticket them all!!!
sounds like an Arab
Double parking, blocking cross walks & blocking traffic because your shmoozing with someone are the three worst offenses in Boro Park and all these offenders shold get ticketed without rachmanus.
All other offenses are up for debate!
What a waste of green peppers! Should have used ripe tomatoes
#2 – Hello Americaisover – I was double parked by a car in Boro Park a year ago; the owner came out a half an hour later with tallis and tefillin in hand, and when I protested to him he told me he had to daven and it was “no bid deal” that I had to wait a few minutes. Sounds like an Arab, eh? The problem is the self-centeredness of many NYC residents and has nothing to do with race. Originally from NYC I now live in a solidly frum community out of town… We ex-New Yorkers often comment about the rudeness experienced in Brooklyn….as do our children who attend Brooklyn yeshivas.
rebshalom, yes it makes a difference, it certainly does.
I have to tell you that while we all know it was wrong to park there..it must be noted that it is extremely hard to find parking in Boro Park. Im not excusing it..as many times Ill circle the block for ages looking for parking while I see many double Parked…and its very tempting to do so. There are times when I don’t care. Like when Im picking up or dropping off my kids at school and theres no where to park…So ill pull over. But I will not leave the car – just in case im in someones way. What am I supposed to do?? The parking situation is horrible. There are more cars than people. My point is..try to be a little more understanding, cause we all end up doing it eventually when we have to. Its just that you don’t have to yet..
Why would any sane person own a car in Boro Park. The last parking space was probably taken when the Dutch were there? The attraction of Boro Park is one doesn’t have to spend a fortune owning a car (so you can spend it on housing instead). It’s faster to walk from one end to the other than to find a parking space in the prime areas.
Any why assault a policeman for giving you a ticket for being parked illegally (which is probably a felony), especially as the person was parked illegally (which is a civil fine).
To #1 Mister Asken:
They ticket you when you are eight feet away from the crosswalk, so don’t sympathize them so quickly.
He deserves a Yasher Koach. He should have used pepper spray, not fresh peppers, What a waste of a product. I am sure you all know why I feel this way. They are all reshaim. Mr Askan, what makes you Mr. Askan? Are you a former or present member of COJO?
Moderators Response: No. Mr. Askin is none other than “The Town Crier”.
i think its so annoying theses cops wait by the meter for it to end so they can ticket u.. and i think what #2 was saying is that the name sounds arab -thats why heshe said its probably an arab..

A real Sephardi would never have wasted peppers like that! Plus I’ve never heard of a Sephardi Jew’s name being “Ale”. Gotta be an arab.
