Numerous Children Struck By Vehicle In Chinatown; 2 Reportedly Killed


ywbn115.gif[UPDATED BELOW] 12:20PM EST: At least eleven children were struck by a van in Chinatown in Lower Manhattan and at least two of them were pinned under it.

Sources tell YWN that at least two children have been pronounced dead, another is in serious condition, and at least 8 with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident occurred at 38 East Broadway off of Catherine Street.

The NYPD has requested a Level 1 mobilization response, and the NYPD Highway AI Squad is responding for the investigation.

Hatzolah was not requested to the scene of this tragic accident.

UPDATE 1:33PM EST: The total patient count is 16 (2 adults, and 14 children). The van reportedly made an illegal u-term, and backed into a crowd of children on the sidewalk – pinning three children under the vehicle.
