While soldiers are putting their lives on the line and commanders pushing for a green light from politicians to ‘finish the job,’ the left-wing mainstream Israeli press continues to push its self-destructive agenda, working to persuade the masses that the Gaza operation is a violation of international law, and an oppressive mission that kills innocent people in Gaza. Despite IDF reports regarding the UN school, the government controlled media continues to sell the people the lies of the UN and the International Red Cross, preferring to ignore the facts presented by our own commanders.
It appears the media has given up on the soldiers, since even the wounded speak of their motivation to return to their units. By all accounts, the backbone of the IDF infantry units today is the dati leumi soldier, a soldier who is out there willingly putting his life on the line for Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael.
The pathetic leftist anti-Jewish media on the other hand is more concerned with international opinion, the secularist character of the State of Israel and its acceptance in the international community. The media laments UN condemnations and soldiers who prefer to use their precious few free minutes to daven Mincha than to eat or sleep. Their shallow secular education reveals their inability to cope, their inability to understand the concept of fighting for the precious gift that Hashem has given us, the concept of sacrifice for Eretz Yisrael, for the privilege to remain in Eretz HaKodesh, a right documented in the Torah, in the first Rashi, but for the government-controlled media, the right does not exceed a UN mandate and world opinion.
Baruch Hashem today we see progress — it took a generation since the first IDF prepatory yeshiva opened its doors in Yishuv Eli in Shomron, but Bnei David has led the way and has introduced a new kind of fighting force, a soldier who carries his weapon and Tanach, who learns gemara and practices shooting, a soldier who realizes that we are just shlichim and ultimately, without siyata d’shmaiya, will can never emerge victorious. For the non-believers, they cling to the last remnants of a secular state empty of yiddishkeit, seeking in every way possible to stop the clock and deny reality; the IDF is becoming a religious G-d fearing army of the Jewish People, despite them, despite the UN, and despite the odds.
As Shabbos nears, it is our fervent prayer that the soldiers of the IDF will be true shlichim, and our prayers, learning and acts of kindness together with their mesirus nefesh will deliver a fatal blow to the modern-day Amalek, despite the enemies who lurk from within.

If מדינת ישראל were a Jewish state, what the article said would be true. But the reality is the only a minority of Israelis are Jews in a Torah sense, and the people who run the government (the media, the army, etc.) are overwhelmingly opposed to Torah.
The Arabs are acting as one would expect someone to act is a bunch of strangers came into the neighborhood and started taking over. How would most people in Brooklyn act if some Indians (and perhaps people of partial Indian ancestry) announced that the land had been stolen from their ancestors, and they are reclaiming it (after a 400 years, versus the 1900 years since we were kicked out by the Romans, long before the Arabs arrived).
If the Jews in Israel were acting as Jews they wouldn’t have these problems. Instead of demanding
