8:10PM IL: Heavy Fighting Continues in Gaza

idfts.jpgHelicopter gunships can be seen operating over Gaza as artillery forces continue to pound terror targets. The fighting in Gaza is reported as “extremely heavy” although the IDF spokesman is not releasing additional details.

As was reported earlier, at least 50 terrorists have been eliminated (today). While diplomatic channels are operating between Jerusalem and representative of other countries, Defense Minister Ehud Barak stated that while Hamas “was hit hard,” he explained “we have not yet reached out objective and therefore, the operation will continue”.

As talks towards an Israeli ceasefire continue, there has been mention that this may be another opportunity to include Gilad Shalit in a deal. Shalit today, Monday, is in his 925th day in Hamas captivity.

  1. G-d bless Israel! War is terrible and we have no other choice. What is happening to the palestinians is only what they would prefer to happen to Israelis (heaven forbid) every day as a regular way of life.

It is amazing that Israel has shown unprecedented compassion in war. The fact that around 500 people have been killed is amazingly low. On 9/11, in a matter of moments, 3000 people were killed by two jet planes while palestinians over there and in America went to the streets, raised their arms to the sky, and danced with joy and celebration in whatever it is they have for hearts.

Israel, wipe out Hamas and their supporters!!!

    G-d bless you!!!!!!!!

  2. Please don’t fall for the 500 number reported as fact by CNN & its cronies. What they are not telling you is that these 500 r’shoyim were in fact Hamas Yemach Sh’momniks. Just because the mamzeyrim aren’t wearing ‘official’ uniforms doesn’t make them the opposing army (which there isn’t one anyway).

  3. There is a very important tefila that should be said after each tefilah for the IDF. You can find it by going to http://www.youngisrael.org and clicking on the tefila for IDF. This a time of pikuach nefesh mamish and I think that my comment should not be a magnet for polarizing elements who don’t think that Young Israel is frum enough to make a short tefila.

  4. have no mercy on them. Special on children, they are growing up learning how to kill us all!!!!!! May Akdosh Baruch Hu burn them all in Guehinom!!

  5. never in history was there ever talk about letting humanitarian aid into the enemy, Here Israel wants to do that if it were possible. MI K’amcho Yisroel

  6. Many people in Gaza wearing nurse uniforms, and other non-combat uniforms are enemy terrorists in disguise. Rocket launchers are stored in hospitals, schools and apartment houses and ammunition is stored in underground tunnels.
The news reporters on radio keep comparing number of casualties on one side to those on the other and claim that it’s not fair that Israel is using so much force. Israel has the Force of HaKodosh Boruch Hu,which will overpower any enemy,as long as we daven.
