Rockland County, NY – A boil water order went into effect today for the village of New Square after a contractor’s misstep caused officials to temporarily shut off water to some homes.

Residents are instructed to boil their water before drinking and cooking, due to complications related to pipe work.

The Rockland County Health Department, which is conducting an analysis of water samples, said the order will likely be in place until Monday.
