The FDNY ladder truck and the bus collided at the intersection of New Lots Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard just before 11 a.m.
Six firefighters from Ladder 103 were rushed to the hospital, two with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
At least one was temporarily pinned in the ladder truck. They were taken to hospitals.
Meanwhile, 19 people on the bus were shaken up and were being treated.
Many of the injured were taken to Kings County Hospital.
The front of the bus suffered extensive front-end damage and the windows were blown out.
The condition of the driver is unknown at this time.
Eyewitness News is told the ladder truck was on its way to a car fire when the accident occurred.
Officials are trying to figure out the cause of the crash is under investigation.
MAY G-D BLESS AMERICA AND IT’S BRAVEST!!
I would not be surprised if the facts will tell us the fire department was at fault.
How many times do we see fire department or other emergancy vehicle driving like maniacs at intersections where they have a red light and NOT slowing down at intersections?
The fire department always assumes that people hear their sirens but if the window is up and a driver has the radio on it sometimes can be hard to hear a siren until the last second. At the same time I must admit that there are many drivers who have no respect for emergancy vehicles and could not care less until they find out it’s their own grandmother in the emergancy vehicle trying to get by.
Emergancy vehicles MUST obey laws regardless of what they are respnding to and this is NYS law.
At the same time regular drivers driving in NYC ought to drive like human beings.
Can YW update with the facts on this case?

Do you always jump to conclusions like this? You’ve never seen a bus in NY pull into traffic without signals and without looking?
