  1. Surely he couldn’t have made it to Brooklyn or Monsey without help? A Frum Yid would have given him a ride & surely would have realised something is wrong. I hope he’s been found by now.

  2. He lives in an adult group home, and his family did not know he was missing until Thursday night. The family reached out to the public for help, and it reached YWN Fri morning, hence the delay.

He suffers from a number of medical and pshycological issues, hence why although he’s onyl 56, he acts and looks elderly.

  3. Why was the family not informed for around 2 1/2 days? This adult home should be sued! Please give us the name so anyone with relatives there can remove them!

  4. The home and surrounding areas were checked early on in the search. There have been confirmed sightings as late as Friday afternoon. With the approval of the Rabbonim, searches were underway Friday night and Shabbos.

The search has intensified, with searchers going door-to-door. It is believed that he may be staying with someone who does not realize the pubic is seeking him.

He is believed to be in the Far Rockaway area still. Based on the latest people who spotted him, he seems to be disoriented and acting strangely.

On scene are the Shomrim of Boro Park, Hatzolah of RL, Chaveirim of Rockland, Chaveirim of Lakewood, New York Radio, KCSP, CERT, Nassau PD Auxillary, Lawrence Volunteer Fire Dept, Misaskim, and members of the community. The bochurim in Shaar Yoshuv yeshiva are also involved in the search. The 101 of the NYPD, Nassau PD 4th & 5th Precints, as well as the NYPD aviation unit, are also assisting.

Food and drinks for the searchers are being provided by the Kosher World.

The turnout has been unbelievable, and the Far Rockaway community is impressed by the number of strangers from all over that have arrived to assist.

A command post has been set up, with searchers receiving a grid. The NYPD has stated how wonderfully impressed they are with the way the search is run, and how organized it is run.

ATV are combing the beachfront area, while other volunteers are going door-to-door.

The team headed by the BSSP, are extremely well trained for these situations, and it is obvious to all those that are observing it.

  5. I hope they find this man soon. my tefilos go out for him and best wishes to his family.

who is NY radio & KCSP? i never heard of this group before and am curious who they are. thanks

  6. He has not been found. On Monday the search teams spent their day reviewing cameras of local buildings looking for clues. They have not found anything yet.

  7. NY1OOK: I was told by numerous people that were involved in the search that the search is headed by a Mordechai Binder from Chaverim of Rockland. I verified this information and it is one hundred percent true. I contacted BSSP and they confirmed that Mr. Binder from Chaverim of Rockland requested their assistance on Motzei Shabbos, but he was running the search. Presently they are working together to try and find Mr. Rothman. Mr. Binder and BSSP search coordinators are working straight since Motzei Shabbos and they are doing eveything they can.

Lets give credit where credit is due and not push people to the side.
