[Click on image to ENLARGE] The state’s Department of Health director on Friday released a statement verifying the legitimacy of Sen. Barack Obama birth certificate.
The state has received multiple requests for a copy of Obama’s birth certificate. State law does not allow officials to release the birth certificate of a person to someone outside of the family.
There were rumors that Obama was born in Kenya, where his father is from. The Constitution requires that the president be a natural born citizen of the U.S.
“There have been numerous requests for Sen. Barack Hussein Obama’s official birth certificate. State law (Hawai‘i Revised Statutes §338-18) prohibits the release of a certified birth certificate to persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record,” DOH Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said.
Fukino said she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obama’s original birth certificate.
“Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawai‘i, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawai‘i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures,” Fukino said.
Fukino said that no state official, including Gov. Linda Lingle, ever instructed that Obama’s certificate be handled differently from any other.
Some Obama critics claim he was not born in the United States.
Multiple lawsuits were filed to try and force Obama to provide proof of citizenship. Earlier Friday, a southwest Ohio magistrate rejected a challenge to Obama’s U.S. citizenship. Judges in Seattle and Philadelphia recently dismissed similar suits.

Even if he was born in Kenya (highly improbably given the age and poverty of his mother at the time), as some NUT CASES have been claiming, he would still be eligible since his mother (an old stock WASP) was a citizen. The law requires one be a citizen at birth, not that one be born in the US (otherwise McCain would be ineligible-his father was stationed overseas at the time of his birth, and he was born abroad). THe IDIOTS raising this matter should be taxed for filing a frivolous lawsuit.

As well, this is merely a printout and not an actual legal document … he would not be able to use this to get a licsence, passport etc

It’s possible the Hawaii authorities are playing with the records. The lack of documentation has gone on for awhile. Also, this doesn’t solve the problem of his losing citizenship by becoming a citizen elsewhere as a child. The real issue is that he moved to Indonesia with his mummy and became Indonesian citizens. When doing so back then, you could not hold dual citizenship & he had to give up his USA citizenship.
The law is that when this is done for a child & the child returns to the US, said person has a certain amount of time to reclaim his USA citizenship so to speak. In Obama’s case there is NO paperwork proving this was ever done.

1. Even if he was born in a foreign country, which is very unlikely since there are no records to contradict his birth certificate from Hawaii, and his parents didn’t have the money to travel (her mother couldn’t afford to follow the father to the mainland when he went to graduate school)- he would still be “natural born citizen” since at the moment he was born he became a citizen (even if abroad, since his mother was a citizen). The law since “natural born” (as opposed to naturalized). It doesn’t say “native born.”
2. Even if Indonesian law automatically naturalized the mother, it wouldn’t affect their American citizenship which is governed by American law which requires a formal declaration of giving up citizenship (a Supreme Court decision as to what the law has been since the mid-19th century).
3. The former American law that a married woman takes her husband citizenship was rejected long before Obama’s birth. In any event, the mother’s marriage was probably void under American law since the father was already married, which while legal for a pagan in Kenya, renders any susequent marriages void ab initio.
SO GET USED TO THE HIGH POSSIBILITY THAT A LIBERAL BLACK WILL BE PRESIDENT (be happy he is straighter and less liberal than Barney Frank,
and probably to the right of Chuck Schumer and most “Jewish” democrats).
So why hasn’t he released the original document?? What is he hiding? He promised to run a transparent campaign, until it suited him otherwise. Had McCain done this, all hell would break lose.

There is nothing anyone can do that would satisfy those who want to believe Obama was not born in Hawaii. Even if Obama did release his birth certificate, people would just say it’s a forgery. So whaddya want?!
