Lakewood Police Looking For Suspect in Bank Robbery

lpd.jpgDetectives from the Lakewood Police Department are investigating an attempted bank robbery this past Friday.

Detective Lt. Joseph Isnardi told YWN the hunt is on for a man who entered the Wachovia Bank on Route 88 at approximately 12:00 noon of Friday, and passed a note to the teller. “Thanks to a thick glass divider between the teller and the robber, no money was given to the man – who fled the bank”, Isnardi said.

Police are looking for a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a colored hat, and dreadlocks. Surveillance cameras have captured the incident, and detectives are currently analyzing the footage. A photo of the suspect is expected to be released in the next few days.

If anyone has any information which can assist the police in their investigation, please contact Detective Lt. Joseph Isnardi of the Lakewood Police Department at (732) 363-0200 ext. 5332.

On September 7, YWN reported that the Lakewood PD had successfully arrested the man who had held up the Commerce Bank located on Route 9 and Kennedy Boulevard on August 9th [as reported HERE on YWN].
