We regret to inform you of the Petira of Rebbetzin Lifsha Feinstein A”H, the wife of Rav Yechiel Michel Feinstien ZATZAL – and the daughter of the Brisker Rav, Hagon Rav Yitzchak Zev Soloveitchik ZATZAL.
R’ Yechiel Michel arrived in the United States of America in 1941 together with Hagon Rav Aharon Kotler. While the latter opened a yeshiva in Lakewood, New Jersey (Beth Medrash Govoha), R’ Yechiel Michel opened a yeshiva for students of the Mir in Boston. Less than a year later, his uncle, Hagon Rav Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, summoned R’ Yechiel Michel to serve at his side as the head of Mesivtha Tifereth Jerusalem in the Lower East Side, Manhattan. During this time, he gained fame for his Talmudic lectures. R’ Yechiel Michel was appointed a member of the Agudas HaRabbonim and played a crucial role in helping save refugees from the Holocaust in Europe.
In 1946, R’ Yechiel Michel arrived in Eretz Yisroel. He immediately reunited with his former teacher the Brisker Rav in Yerushalayim, and married the Brisker Rav’s daughter, Lifsha. His other mentor, Hagoen Rav Isser Zalman, was the Mesader Kedushin at the Chasunah. Following his marriage, he continued serving in the capacity of rosh yeshiva in America until 1952. In 1952 he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel once again, establishing Yeshivas Beis Yehuda in Tel Aviv. He consulted regularly with the Chazon Ish in Bnei Brak on important issues.
In 1973, a daughter of R’ Yechiel Michel died, which prompted R’ Yechiel Michel to move to Bnei Brak. In 1984, he inaugurated the new yeshiva building, where he gave more than 17 intricate lectures per week. In 2003, he was Niftar.
Rebbitzen Lifsha Feinstein is survived by a son – Rabbi Dovid Feinstein and son-in-law Rabbi Tzvi Kaplan, each of whom is the rosh yeshiva of his own yeshiva in Eretz Yisroel.
The Levaya was held on Sunday at the Yeshiva of Rav Tzvi Kaplan Shlita in Yerushalayim.

To #3,
Not to question your historical accuracy, but how was he his cousin – he wasn’t married yet? If he wasn’t married -what shaychos would he have with JB?
To # 7-
The Feinsteins and Solovetchiks are related – not through the Brisker Rov Zt”l but fromh earlier – 3 generations up-
Reb Michel Feinstein Ztz”l was the nephew of Reb Moshe Feinstein ztz”l. Reb Moshe was the nephew of Reb Elya Feinstein – known as Reb Elya Pruziner who was the mechuten of reb chaim Brisker soleveitchik. His daughter married R’ chaims son Reb Moshe who later was Rosh yeshiva of the Yeshiva Reb yitzchok Elchonon in USA (later known as YU).
So Reb Michel was related to the Soleveitchiks before he married the daughter of the Brisker Rov.
