Woman Charged in Fatal Crash That Killed Saada Mom and Daughters; Held In Bellevue Psychiatric Ward

A driver faces manslaughter charges after allegedly speeding through a red light and fatally striking a 35-year-old mother and her two daughters on Ocean Parkway.

The horrific crash occurred Shabbos around 1 p.m. when 32 year old Miriam Yarimi, driving a 2023 Audi A3 with a suspended license and no insurance, is believed to have been traveling at 50 mph in a 25-mph zone, according to police sources.

Investigators are reviewing traffic cameras, a bystander’s dashcam, and the Audi’s “black box” data to confirm Yarimi’s exact speed and whether she attempted to brake before the collision. Skid marks at the scene are also under forensic analysis. Police say alcohol or drugs were not factors, though Yarimi’s license had been suspended due to an insurance lapse.

Yarimi, who suffered minor injuries, was initially treated at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn before being transferred to Bellevue Hospital’s psychiatric ward, where she remains under evaluation. Her arraignment on charges including manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, assault, reckless driving, and speeding is pending in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

  1. Claiming to be insane isn’t going to get her out of this mess. Anyone capable of raising a child, running a business, posting nonstop on social media, is not crazy enough to use mental illness as an excuse for her recklessness.

  2. Not just raising a child but fighting for custody of that child, constantly posting videos speeding in luxury cars, endless vacations, full clientele for wigs, the only insanity is what happened Saturday and unfortunately they still in the laws here she won’t get enough time

  3. @savta

I first thought she was Mexican or something as they also have the name Miriam.

She gained over 3k followers on Instagram ever since this happened.
You can see she grew up Frum. I looked thru her highlights and you can see text messages she posted with friends (the first thing I movie’s she typed BH and then also posted a purim video)she’s trying to get full custody of her daughter. That ain’t happening now she’s in prison.

  4. She has a wonderful family. She had a very hard life. Obviously what she did is unforgivable, However I don’t think it’s our place to say such hateful things towards her. She is in enough pain on what she did. And @sariray she isn’t in a mental institution to please insanity. She is there because she cannot bear what she did.

  5. You wanna explain why we should be davening for someone who was driving drunk, on shabbos, and killed three people?
