HORRIFIC TRAGEDY IN FLATBUSH: Crash Claims Lives of Mother and Two Daughters, Leaves Young Son Fighting for Life

A devastating tragedy struck the Orthodox Jewish community in Flatbush on Shabbos afternoon, when a mother and her two daughters were fatally struck by a vehicle driven by an individual with a suspended license. The horrific incident occurred just after 1:00 p.m. on Ocean Parkway near Quentin Road, as the family was walking home from shul.

According to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, the crash unfolded when an Audi, driven by 32-year-old Miriam Yarimi, collided with a Toyota Camry operated by an Uber driver. The Audi then veered out of control, careening into a crosswalk where it struck the 35-year-old mother and her daughters, ages 7 and 5, killing them instantly. The woman’s 4-year-old son was also hit and remains in critical condition, battling for his life at a local hospital.

“This was a horrific tragedy caused by someone who shouldn’t have been on the road,” Commissioner Tisch said during a press conference at the scene. Authorities confirmed that Yarimi’s license had been suspended prior to the crash. She has not yet been charged, pending further investigation.

HORRIFIC UPDATE: With a heavy heart, YWN can now publish the names of the victims who were killed in the horrific Flatbush tragedy: Mother Natasha (Sara) Saada (35) A”H, and daughters Diana Saada (7) A”H, and Debra Saada (5) A”H. Please continue to say Tehillim for 4-year-old Pinchas Raphael Ben Sarah who is in extremely critical condition. Levaya details will be published when confirmed.

The family had been enjoying a peaceful Shabbos walk when the unthinkable occurred. A neighbor told YWN that the woman’s husband was at home with their infant at the time of the accident, unaware of the nightmare unfolding just blocks away.

In total, nine people were injured in the chaotic scene. The Uber driver, a 62-year-old man, and Yarimi were taken to Coney Island Hospital in stable condition, where they are expected to undergo testing for possible intoxication. Three passengers in the Uber—two children and an adult—were transported to Kings County Hospital, also in stable condition.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash, including the cause of the initial collision and the driver’s actions leading up to the tragedy. Hatzolah and other emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, working to aid the victims amid the chaos.

PLEASE SAY TEHILLIM for Pinchas Raphael Ben Sarah
