BORO PARK: Suspect in Forcible Touching Incidents Arrested Following Swift Action by Boro Park Shomrim and NYPD

Thanks to the vigilance of Boro Park Shomrim volunteers and a rapid response by the NYPD, a man wanted for committing multiple forcible touching incidents in the Boro Park neighborhood was arrested Wednesday morning at the corner of New Utrecht Avenue and 44th Street.

The arrest followed a series of disturbing reports received by Boro Park Shomrim on Tuesday from multiple victims who said they had been inappropriately touched by an unidentified male on the street. Shomrim immediately sprang into action, gathering surveillance footage from the area, advising victims to file police reports, and coordinating with the NYPD Special Victims Unit, which promptly joined the investigation.

With the help of surveillance footage, Shomrim was able to obtain clear images and video of the suspect involved in several of the incidents. A community-wide “Be On the Lookout” (BOLO) alert was issued late Tuesday and shared across platforms, including the Boro Park Scoop WhatsApp status and groups.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, a community member spotted a man matching the description from the BOLO alert and contacted Shomrim. Volunteers quickly responded to the scene and began discreetly trailing the suspect. While being followed, the suspect reportedly attempted to assault another woman.

NYPD officers were immediately notified and swiftly arrived on the scene to place the suspect under arrest.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts between community members, Shomrim, and law enforcement, a dangerous individual is now in custody, and the community is safer for it.
