As Pesach approaches, PSI is once again stepping up to support middle-income families struggling with Yom Tov grocery expenses. Spearheaded by local baalei battim this initiative aims to alleviate financial strain and ensure that every family in Rockland County can celebrate Yom Tov with dignity.
PSI is designed for families earning $130,000 or more annually who are facing challenges covering Pesach costs and typically do not receive assistance from other organizations. To qualify, applicants must have at least three children and be making Yom Tov at home. Enrollment is currently open, with a deadline of Thursday, March 20, to ensure that participants receive their grocery assistance cards in time. If additional spots become available, applications submitted after the deadline may still be considered.
The baalei battim funding PSI encourage participants to take advantage of financial coaching through RSK, which can be accessed at RSK Financial Coaching.
To apply, families must complete an application at www.psiyomtov.org. Each applicant must provide a unique phone number and email—duplicate submissions will be disqualified. Additionally, families should ensure that their mailing address, including any unit numbers, is correct to avoid delivery delays. Applications must be submitted personally; submissions on behalf of others will not be accepted.
Processing takes at least seven days from the time of application, and applicants can check their status anytime at https://psiyomtov.org/check-status. If a confirmation email or text is not received, it means that sufficient funds have not yet been secured for that particular kehilla. PSI is actively working to expand the program and will notify applicants if additional funding becomes available.
Cards are expected to be delivered by Rosh Chodesh Nissan, and cards from previous years will not be valid. The PSI card provides a 50% discount at Bingo and All Fresh, with financial limits based on family size:
- 3 or more children – 50% off up to $1,000 (you pay $500, PSI covers $500).
- 6 or more children – 50% off up to $2,000 (you pay $1,000, PSI covers $1,000).
- 7 or more children – 50% off up to $2,500 (you pay $1,250, PSI covers $1,250).
- 10 or more children – 50% off up to $3,000 (you pay $1,500, PSI covers $1,500).
The card is valid until Rosh Chodesh Iyar or until the spending limit is reached.
Before use, each card must be activated by calling the number on the back, pressing 1, and entering the last eight digits of the card. If activation fails, another registered phone number should be tried. Once activated, the discount will automatically apply at checkout, and participants will pay the remaining 50% using their preferred payment method.
Again, the baalei battim funding PSI encourage participants to take advantage of financial coaching through RSK, which can be accessed at RSK Financial Coaching.

Amazing. An organization that is actually looking out for the middle class. Just because people are earning a decent living doesn’t mean they should be constantly overlooked.
