Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon suggested on Tuesday that President Donald Trump could seek and win a third term in the White House, despite constitutional term limits. Speaking with NewsNation host Chris Cuomo, Bannon asserted that efforts were already underway to make it happen.

When asked about his own presidential ambitions, Bannon dismissed the idea, instead doubling down on his belief that Trump would run again in 2028.

“No, and I’m a firm believer that President Trump will run and win again in 2028, so I’ve already endorsed President Trump,” Bannon said. “A man like this comes along once every century if we’re a little lucky. We’ve got him now, he’s on fire, and I’m a huge supporter. I wanna see him again in 2028.”

Cuomo quickly pushed back, noting that Trump is legally barred from serving a third term. “You’re a smart guy. You know he’s term-limited. How do you think he gets another term?”

Bannon responded cryptically: “We’re working on it. I think we’ll have a couple of alternatives, let’s say that. We’ll see what the definition of term limit is.”

Cuomo pressed further, clarifying that he did not want viewers to interpret Bannon’s remarks as advocating an insurrection.

“So you’re talking about litigating this issue, because I don’t want people to listen to our interview and say, ‘Bannon’s cooking up an insurrection.’ You know what I mean? I want people to get a straight take on where your head is.”

Bannon, who previously floated the idea of a third Trump term at a New York Republican gala in December, maintained that there were ongoing plans but declined to provide specifics.

“Chris, as you know, I’ve had greater long shots than this,” he said. “We’ve had greater long shots than Trump 2028, and we’ve got a lot of stuff we’re working on there. We’re not prepared to talk about it publicly, but in a couple months I think we will be.”

Cuomo then sought further clarification, asking whether Bannon was advocating any form of revolution or political upheaval.

“But you are not suggesting revolution or overthrow or anything that people would condemn?”

Bannon sidestepped the question, prompting Cuomo to press again.

“I just want to make it clear for people so that they can’t paint you as, you know, suggesting revolution. Your analogy is to ’32 and how FDR extended it?”

Bannon responded: “We are, but I firmly believe in the revolution you’re seeing going on now, the revolution of common sense to deconstruct the administrative state.”

  1. A third term would require a constitutional amendment or a putsch. The most likely result of even trying to take a third term would be a WOKE president who in addition to cancelling everything Trump has done, would also actively support anti-Semitism at home, and replacing Israel with a Muslim state “from the river to the sea”. Even “trolling” about such an idea is very dangerous since it supports the idea that Trump is a wannabee dictator who will rip up the Constitution.
