US Airstrike Kills Senior Al-Qaeda-Linked Terrorist in Syria

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Sunday that it successfully carried out a precision airstrike in Northwest Syria, killing a senior operative of Hurras al-Din, an Al-Qaeda affiliate. The strike took place on Saturday as part of ongoing US efforts to disrupt and eliminate terrorist threats in the region.

In an official statement on X/Twitter, CENTCOM emphasized its commitment to preventing terrorist organizations from planning and executing attacks against US forces, allies, and civilians.

The targeted strike aligns with broader counterterrorism operations aimed at degrading Al-Qaeda-linked networks that pose threats beyond the Middle East. Hurras al-Din, one of the most dangerous jihadist factions in Syria, has been responsible for multiple attacks against Western and allied forces.

US officials have not yet released the identity of the slain operative, but they reaffirmed that the operation was conducted with precision to minimize collateral damage while maintaining pressure on terrorist groups operating in Syria.
