Small Plane Carrying Local Family Crashes at Lakewood Airport; 1 Hospitalized


A small aircraft carrying three individuals crashed at Lakewood Airport near Cedarbridge Avenue on Thursday afternoon, Lakewood Alerts reported.

Emergency crews, including fire, EMS, and police units, all responded to the crash site. One occupant reportedly sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital, while the other two escaped with minor or no injuries.

The aircraft involved in the crash is believed to be a four-seat Cessna 172M, reportedly owned by a Lakewood resident.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.

  1. On Newsweek website this is what they reported:

    “Local news outlets reported that multiple people were injured. The Lakewood Scoop identified one victim as Chasdei Hashem.

    The Ocean County Sheriff reported on Facebook at 5:30 p.m. ET that “all aboard are safe.”

    THEY ARE SO RIGHT, IT is Chasdei Hashem!

  2. It seems like every few days we hear of another one of these small planes crashing. These are all single engine planes that keep on crashing. Small planes have a much higher accident rate than commercial airliners and single engine planes have the highest rate of crashes from all small planes. IMO single engine planes need to be outlawed.
