New Jersey State Senator Jon Bramnick has accused federal authorities of withholding the truth about the mysterious drones spotted over the Garden State, suggesting they are too “fearful” of how the public might react.

“Whatever these drones are doing, the government really doesn’t want us to know,” Bramnick told NewsNation on Saturday. The Republican senator from the 21st Legislative District called on the Department of Defense to “come clean” and provide clarity.

“There must be something going on that they can’t tell us because they’re so fearful of what the public’s gonna do when they hear what the drones are doing,” Bramnick claimed, questioning how the government could let both citizens and local leaders remain frustrated without answers.

Tensions over the drones, first reported in New Jersey and New York on Nov. 18, escalated after New York Governor Kathy Hochul urged federal authorities to authorize police to shoot them down. President-elect Donald Trump echoed the call, writing, “Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!”

Bramnick also criticized the FBI’s vague reassurances, saying, “They claim there’s no evidence of a threat—what does that even mean? They haven’t done anything sinister yet? That’s not reassuring.”
