DHL Launches New Solutions to Boost Cross-Border E-Commerce from China for Global Retailers

DHL Global Forwarding, a key player in the DHL Group, is responding to the robust growth in China’s cross-border e-commerce, which saw transactions hit 1.22 trillion yuan (approximately $190 billion) in the first half of 2024—a notable 10.5% increase compared to the same period last year. This surge is fueled by a growing appetite among consumers for products from popular Chinese platforms like Shein, Temu, AliExpress, and TikTok Shop. As a result, DHL is poised to offer solutions that not only enhance shipping efficiency but also cater to a rapidly expanding market.

According to Aditi Rasquinha, CEO of Greater China at DHL Global Forwarding, the need for streamlined shipping solutions has never been more urgent. The U.S. remains a dominant export market for these e-commerce companies, but Europe is quickly becoming an essential player, with 53% of European online shoppers buying from Chinese sellers, as revealed in DHL’s Global Shopper Trends Report. This growing interest underscores the importance of reliable logistics in facilitating cross-border commerce.

To empower small and medium-sized e-commerce businesses in China, DHL has introduced a user-friendly approach to shipping, addressing the complexities of customs and regulatory hurdles that often hinder international trade.
