Donald Trump’s vice presidential running mate, J.D. Vance, came from roots as simple and as salt of the earth as one could ever find. In 2016, just after he shot to fame with the publication of his memoir “Hillbilly Elegy,” Vance delivered a TED Talk describing his experiences growing up in the white working class and underlining what he believes is America’s forgotten working class.
