MORE HATE IN NYC: Terrified Jewish Students Barricade In School Library As Violent Protesters Pound On Window [VIDEOS]

A group of Jewish students at Cooper Union College in New York had to be locked into a school library on Wednesday as a pro-Hamas group of protesters pounded on the door, attempting to get their hands on them.

Video footage captured by one of the students shows several Orthodox Jewish students confined within the library while a crowd gathered outside the door, chanting “Free Palestine.”

NYPD police forces were eventually summoned to the scene, and a strategic decision was made to escort the students to safety through tunnels accessible from a rear exit of the library.

“We have been in contact with the NYPD and Cooper Union leadership about the situation that unfolded on campus. The NYPD was present on scene and was coordinating with school security during the entire event, ensuring no one was injured,” NYC Mayor Eric Adams posted on X.

“While the students at Cooper Union have a right to peacefully protest, hate has no place in our city,” he added.

The school said in a statement to YWN following the incident: “The library was closed for approximately 20 minutes late this afternoon while student protestors moved through our building. Some students who were previously in the library remained there during this time. They were accompanied by library staff and choose to stay in the library until the protest was over. All students, including those who participated in the protest, dispersed by 5:30 p.m. Additionally, to clarify some erroneous reports, NYPD was onsite throughout the day.”

  1. Our first African American female open lesbian press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, has warned us about hatred towards Arab Americans & Muslim Americans. I hope Chris Wray and his FBI hitmen will investigate this hate crime. We can’t allow these white Orthodox Jews to run rampant thru our Universities terrorizing those of Arab descent.

  2. There is no way we can tolerate this. This is our city, there are 10x as many jews here as our enemies. After what they did to us on Simchat Torah, they should be afraid, not us.

  3. Assuming the protesters were not arrested, the Jewish students should file a complaint against the school for discrimination. Creating a hostile environment (which is often an issue in job discrimination cases) for members of a protected class (ethnic or religious minorities) is discriminatory. Also the failure of the police to arrest the protesters might constitute a violation of federal civil rights laws, being state action to deprive persons of protected civil rights.

  4. Back to the days of David Dinkins, the worst Mayor of NY. Mayor Adams knew of this and Let them protest “peacefully”, while Jewish students feared for theire safety, locking themselves in the library?
So much for protecting the citizens of NY. Dinkins allowed the Crown Heights riots to let people vent, and that led to a second death, that one actual murder (unlike the child, who was hit by accident).
Mayor Adams learned nothing from history. They were locked in the library for 40 minutes while people sat on their hands?!? Heads should roll.

  5. I remember the days when you couldn’t create a disturbance in a school library, or threaten physical harm on campus. It was a serious offense. Why are they allowing an exception a recognized hate group? The “protestors” should’ve been escorted out. The library is not a free speech zone (aka anything goes).

  6. So Mayor Adams considers terrorizing and intimidating students and banging on the door to the extent that they had to barricade themselves in and they feared for their safety a “peaceful protest”??? And the NYPD is proud of having evacuated the students through a back exit, but did nothing to the students who were disturbing the peace and harrasing and threatening them??? And the Mayor, of course, never misses a photo op with all the Rebbelach and insists he’s a friend of the Jewish community. That tells you how much their “protection” and “security” are worth; with friends like this…
