Gunshots rang out on busy Avenue M in Flatbush on Hoshanah Rabba, as thousands of shoppers filled the streets.
One person was shot in the leg on Avenue m and East 16 Street at around 12:10PM Friday afternoon. Flatbush Hatzolah and FDNY treated the victim, who was transported by EMS to the hospital in stable condition.
Commanding Officer of the NYPD 70 Precinct, Inspector Bruce Ceparano, tells YWN that this incident began in another area, and ended with the shooting on Avenue M, and had nothing to do with anyone living in the area. Police confirm that this was a gang-related shooting.
Thanks to incredibly fast police work, a suspect was taken into custody by NYPD Connunity Affairs Officer of the 70 Precinct a short while later, and a weapon has been recovered.
Ceparano tells YWN that the NYPD has increased their already increased presence over the remaining days of Yom Tov.

Oh please. Our African American Mayor, Eric Adams, said very emphatically that all crime in this City is only a perception. If you disagree with his highness, you’re a plantation owner racist.
Where are all the Hatzalah types with their radios and phones?
