Tens of thousands of people participate each year at the nightly Simchas Bais Hashoeva on Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights. The music and dancing go from 9:00pm to 6:00am.
A tremendous amount of work goes into making sure the event runs smoothly. One of the most pivotal agencies at the event is the NYPD, which deploys dozens of officers there each night.
Early Wednesday morning (at 3:00AM) the Commanding Officer of Community Affairs, Inspector Richie Taylor, went on the stage to publicly thank his officers and Crown Heights Shomrim (Coordinators Gadi & Mendy Hershkop) for their dedication and hard work to ensure the safety of thousands each night.
Inspector Taylor personally attends the event nearly every night from midnight until 4:00am, making it his business to thank each Officer individually for their assistance.
Below is the video of Inspector Taylor addressing the thousands upon thousands of attendees.
