FLATBUSH: 22 Yeshivas Meet With NYPD Brass To Discuss Safety And Ongoing Relationships [PHOTOS]


Last week, the NYPD 61st precinct held an important meeting for all the Yeshivas and Bais Yaakov’s that are located in the confines of their area. This meeting was arranged and led by Rabbi Raphael Netanel, the Yeshiva Liaison to the 61st precinct.

In attendance were representatives from every mosad in the 61st precinct such as Yeshivat Ateret Torah, Mirrer Yeshiva, Yeshivat Magen Avraham, Bet Yaakov Ateret Torah, Ohr David Becon, Bnos Yisrael, YDE Boys School, YDE Girls School, Mazal Day School, Shulamith School for Girls, Ahiezer Yeshiva, Bnot Rachel High School, YKT High School, Prospect Park Yeshiva, Yeshivat Mekor Chaim, Yeshivat Ohel Torah, Yeshivat Derech Hatorah, Lev Bais Yaakov, Bnos Yaakov. All of the Yeshiva administrators were addressed by Brooklyn South Chief Charles McEvoy, Cpt. Joseph Antonio, and Sgt. John Siciliano.

The NYPD expressed their sincere dedication to the safety and needs of the yeshivas and to continue to build a strong relationship with all local yeshivas.

Cpt. Joseph Antonio of the 61st precinct shared his tremendous interest in being directly involved and in touch with local yeshivas and together with Sgt. Siciliano and Rabbi Netanel arranged an initiative where all local yeshivas will receive frequent visits from a 61st precinct officer that is specifically assigned to them.

The meeting ended with every yeshiva administrator being assigned to an officer that will be the yeshiva’s direct contact for all their needs and concerns.

Chief Charles McEvoy of Brooklyn South was extremely satisfied with this gathering and took the time to personally greet every yeshiva administrator. Yeshiva administrators left this meeting feeling very good and confident that our local yeshivas have the support of the NYPD.
