The CRC issued an urgent kashrus bulletin, warning consumers that batches of Pereg Basmati Brown Rice had been found to be infested with bugs.
The affected lots are those with “best by” dates of December 23, 2023, and September 28, 2024.
The CRC said it is monitoring other lots to determine whether a warning is necessary for them as well.

My mother taught me how to check rice in a bowl of warm water before cooking it. All the bugs come to the top.
If the bug is inside the rice, I do not see how it will float to the top.
