Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who is currently under hospice care, has reportedly requested that President Joe Biden deliver his eulogy. The announcement was accidentally made by President Biden during a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Rancho Santa Fe, California on Monday.
President Biden spoke about his predecessor’s health, stating that “I spent time with Jimmy Carter and it’s finally caught up with him, but they found a way to keep him going for a lot longer than they anticipated because they found a breakthrough. He asked me to do his eulogy.”
Realizing his mistake, President Biden quickly added, “Excuse me, I shouldn’t say that.”
The Carter Center announced last month that the 98-year-old former president had entered hospice care. It is not yet clear when the eulogy will take place.
Carter served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981.

Many experienced procession analysts are hoping that Carter will be at the podium because he is more coherent, while other avid funeral goers would prefer Biden at the lectern because it would be very Meta for a sitting President to eulogize a former President.”
Many are indeed hoping for a tandem funeral, during which the flag would be lowered to half staff for one and then to the ground for the other.
They would also lie in state in capital rotunda side by side for greatest efficiency.
