GROWN UP: Ron DeSantis Brushes Off Trump’s Childish Attacks: “He Can Say What He Wants”

In the already heated Donald Trump vs. Ron DeSantis battle for Republican votes in the 2024 election, the Florida governor is showing that he is the clear adult in the room.

On his Fox News podcast, Brian Kilmeade noted to DeSantis that the governor takes no shots at Trump in his new book, which he is now promoting, whereas Trump “seems to be taking some shots at you.”

“Look, it’s silly season,” DeSantis replied. “You know how some of this stuff goes, and obviously he does his thing and that’s kind of who he is. But, what I wanted to do was give an honest appraisal of how we got to this point, the failures of the DC Republican establishment and how Donald Trump was speaking to things that some of the old guard refused to address.”

“That’s just a fact, and he can say what he wants about me,” DeSantis added. “I always give him credit for the things that he did that were positive, and I’m appreciative of a lot of things that he did.”

“Doesn’t mean I agree with everything that he’s doing lately or whatever, but ultimately it’s about delivering for the people you represent and delivering for the country, so I wasn’t really into kind of trying to throw pot shots at anybody,” DeSantis added.

“My thing was just kind of explaining my approach to leadership, the issues we’ve tackled in Florida and how we’ve been able to see really unprecedented success for our state.”

  1. I agree he’s really very good, but there’s just one big problem, which potentially can become the elephant in the room, and that is, ממה נפשך, if he concedes he believes the 2020 election was “possibly” stolen he’s casting illegitimacy on his own candidacy, becomes Trump was possibly robbed of his second term, and at the same time he’ll be labeled by the entire establishment as an “election denier”.

And if he says he believes there’s no way it was really stolen, (“of course there was lots of fraud but not enough to change the outcome”…), then many (including myself) will start viewing him as an apologist to the gangsters in the establishment and globalists clan.

  2. MDshweks, what does the 2020 election being stolen have anything to do with DeSantis? He’s running in 2024 not in 2020. Team Trump folks need to stop whining about what they see in the rearview mirror and start looking at the road ahead. The baggage that comes with Trump isn’t worth the headache for the sane (aka right wing) voter.

  3. Really?! So you think DeSantis is going to say: I think it might have been stolen but move on and elect me?!

I would make a שבועה this will NEVER happen (if I was a person that swears…).

  4. MD, you’re nuts. Even if we could prove beyond all doubt that Trump was robbed, what has that got to do with 2024? How could it possibly make a Desantis candidacy illegitimate?

The fact is that Trump was robbed, even if the outright election fraud wasn’t enough to change the result. The fraud was only one part of the steal; the rest of it was probably enough to change the result even without the fraud. In Georgia the fraud probably did make the difference, and maybe in one other state, but probably not in enough states that we could say without it Trump would have won. In most states the election was stolen legally, and the fraud was just running up the score.

But none of that has anything to do with 2024. Are you seriously claiming that if Trump was robbed he should be entitled to a free term to make up for it?! That’s not how it can possibly work. The president who is sworn in in 2025 has to be elected in 2024, not in 2020.

  5. The “headache” of addressing the stealing apparatus of election is a price we must pay.
If you want to fix anything about this country – this should be the first.
Watch that Rumble video (it’s not long) and see for yourself…

  6. In any event, the “Stolen” (in quotes because it wasn’t stolen) notwithstanding DeSantis is running a brilliant campaign, in that he hasn’t announced or had to spend any money yet, but still gets poll numbers and publicity because his chief rival is providing it to him for free. It’s a win-win for him, and Trump is playing right into his hands because he has an ego issue and can’t control himself.
