NEW POLL: DeSantis Would Crush Trump By 24% In Head-To-Head Showdown

A recent poll of 1,000 Republicans has revealed that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is the favorite to win the GOP nomination in the 2024 presidential primary. The poll, conducted by WPA Intelligence from February 13-16, shows that DeSantis would win a hypothetical nine-way primary race with 40 percent of the Republican vote. Even when put up against eight other candidates, DeSantis emerged as the clear winner.

Former President Donald Trump, who many believe may run again in 2024, came in second with 31 percent support in the hypothetical race. This marks a 9 percent trail behind DeSantis, who is widely considered to be one of the most popular GOP candidates for 2024. The remaining seven candidates in the proposed race all earned under 10 percent of the Republican voting bloc.

The poll also shows that DeSantis would win in a head-to-head with Trump by 24 percent, indicating that he could be a viable alternative to the former president if he decides not to run in 2024. This is notable, as many Republican voters still view Trump as the party’s leader.

Trump-era Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who recently announced her candidacy for president, earned 8 percent of the vote in the hypothetical race. No other candidate included in the poll has officially announced a bid, but former Vice President Mike Pence, former Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming, Trump-era Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott were all included in the poll.

The poll results suggest that DeSantis is emerging as a top contender for the GOP nomination in 2024. However, it is still early in the election cycle, and many candidates have yet to officially announce their bids.

  1. Former President Donald Trump, who many believe may run again–???—he already announced…
furthermore, desantus wld be crazy to go in. even if he wins, trump goes third party and splits the vote giving biden the win. great governor, wait utnil 28

  2. But crushing Trump in the primaries won’t make Trump any more likely to endorse you, and won’t win over his “deplorable” (proletarian) base, which means that whomever crushes Trump has no chance of winning the election that matters. To win, DeSantis (or anyone else), needs to convince Trump to not only drop out, but to support him actively, and to do so in a way that avoids alienating the traditions (bourgeois) Republican mainstream.

  3. Trump is going to be upset and may revert to throwing food at the walls in Mar a Lardo. As the poll is from a hard right polling company he can’t blame the “libs”.
