Former President Donald Trump has made it quite clear that he no longer likes Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is almost certain to put up a strong fight against him for the GOP nomination in 2024.

Trump has attacked DeSantis incessantly in recent weeks, including on Tuesday, when he let a Truth Social post fly – but probably without thinking it through first. In fact, the tweet is so bizarre, one could almost interpret it as an endorsement of the Florida governor.

Here’s what Trump wrote: “Florida was doing GREAT long before Ron DeSanctus got there. People are fleeing from New York to Florida (and other places) because of high TAXES and out of control CRIME, not because of Governor (thank you President Trump!) Desanctimonious. Rick Scott did great, and even Charlie Crist had very good numbers. SUNSHINE AND OCEAN, very alluring!!!”

Just a cursory review of the post seems quite pro-DeSantis, though perhaps Trump doesn’t realize it. What Trump is saying is that the reason people are coming to Florida is because of DeSantis; he just doesn’t want to give DeSantis credit for keeping taxes and crime levels low.

So yes, people might not be going to Florida because DeSantis is governor, but they’re certainly heading there in droves because of his policies.

Separately, Trump attacked DeSantis again – as well as Fox News again – following a DeSantis showing in Staten Island, which was not a campaign event.

If FAKE NEWS CNN was smart, which they’re not, they’d go Conservative & “All Trump, All the Time,” like in 2016, and become a Ratings Juggernaut.””
