THEY SPOKE ABOUT MOSHIACH: Chief Rabbi Of Iran, Other Religious Figures Meet With Leader of Iran

Chief Rabbi of Tehran Rav Yehudah Gerami and other religious figures in the Islamic Republic met on Monday with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

The meeting focused on the topic of the Islamic revolution and its “achievements” for all religions.

Raisi spoke about Jews and Israel, emphasizing the lack of connection between the two: “All believers in the Abrahamic religions, with the belief in G-d’s promise to save man and actualize justice and fight oppression – this is a common belief among all religions, including the Abrahamic religion.”

“Those who oppress the downtrodden people in Palestine in the name of Jews have nothing to do with the Jewish religion and the followers of the Prophet Moses today. Those who oppress people in any part of the world in the name of Christianity have nothing to do with Christianity because all the prophets hated oppression.”

Raisi almost mentioned the ongoing protests against the regime, calling the protesters “enemies of the regime.”

“Today, the enemies of the Islamic revolution seek to create hopelessness and despair in Iranian society in order to stop Iran from developing, producing, from promoting science and technology, business and creative pursuits.”

According to a B’Chadrei Chareidim report, HaRav Gerami spoke during the meeting, emphasizing the “common values between monotheistic religions, and in particular Abrahamic religions, such as the belief in one G-d, prophecy, the world to come, the Messiah and redemption.”

  1. He got one thing right he DIDN’T say “Those who terrorize people in the name of Islam have nothing to do with the Islamic religion”. I feel bad for this young Rabbi who needs to put on this show in order to save his own life.

  2. He fills all the prerequisites to run for the demonratic party nomination. He talks like them. Same ideology. Statism. As for the birth certificate, he should ask Obama where he can get one.

  3. “Those who oppress the downtrodden people in Palestine in the name of Jews have nothing to do with the Jewish religion and the followers of the Prophet Moses today…”

This happens to be 100% true. The Zionists and their “State” are anti-Jewish, by far the greatest force of shmad on the planet.

  4. DO ALL OF YOU SELF-RIGHTEOUS COMMENTERS FINALLY REALIZE THAT NETUREI KARTA WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG??

That other Jews also realize the vast gulf that separates Judaism from Zionism??

That you can still be a proud Jew and still oppose Zionism??

Nay, you should be a proud Jew BECAUSE you oppose Zionism!! אמן

  5. Chaya13, I could not agree more. I was about to submit the same comment. What a horrible bind that Rabbi is in, to have to twist the truth and the foundations of Jewish belief in order to maintain protection for his community by the maniacal leader of this host country.

  6. The Jews in Iran should all leave immediately.

The murderous Iranian regime can use them as hostages and can torture them when the inevitable war with Israel takes place.

  7. “Those who oppress the downtrodden people in Palestine in the name of Jews have nothing to do with the Jewish religion and the followers of the Prophet Moses today”

No one is “oppressing the downtrodden people in Palestine” – if anything, the government of Israel isn’t doing enough to contain the islamist jihadi-menace and protect the Yidden in the land. The only reason the “Palestinians” are dealt with the way they are (which is unfortunately far too softly) is because the population is openly hostile to Jews and extremely dangerous. This has nothing to do with “oppression” for the sake of oppressing people or any form of “zionist conquest” of the land (as the seculars in Israel clearly have no problem with terror-supporting arab muslims living, working, and breathing freely in EY and serving in the israeli knesset & supreme court) and has everything to do with שמירת הנפש and the protection and safety of its Jewish population…

So Neturei Charta are correct because the genocidal president of Iran agrees with you? You should be ashamed that you support the butcher of Iran (who has no doubt murdered many real Jews, unlike Neturei Charta).

  9. You idiots, do you seriously think Rabbi Garami agrees with that statement?! Do you seriously think he is not a zionist?! It’s blindingly obvious to everyone that he is playing a part, which he has to do in order to preserve his community, EXACTLY as the Skulener Rebbe and the other rabbonim of Romania had to do with Ceasescu yimach shemo, and exactly as the German rabbonim had to do with Hitler y”sh. They said what they had to say, and everyone understood that they meant the opposite. The tzorerim also understood that, but they took pleasure in forcing them to say it. And Raisi undoubtedly understands it too, and is also enjoying his power.

  10. Milhouse:
Hopefully, Rabbi Gerami’s education should have sufficed to teach him that Zionism is not Judaism. He attended NIRC not lihavdil YU.

  13. Read carefully and you might appreciate the wisdom of these words:

“Those who oppress the downtrodden people in Palestine in the name of Jews have nothing to do with the Jewish religion and the followers of the Prophet Moses today”

Does the Israeli government “oppress” the Palestinians? Not at all!

Are the Palestinians “downtrodden”? Not at all.

The Torah forbids us to cause distress even to an animal, much more, a human. The Israeli Government treats the Palestinians with compassion, provides health care when needed, allows potential enemies to enter the country for work, provides electricity that can be used for building weapons, and even collects taxes and transfers the funds to them. Is that “oppression”.

Many Palestinian people on the street openly admit that they are better off under Israeli rule than ANY other Arab country. There are Palestinian bloggers that actually support Israel.

The rabbi carefully spoke words of truth in the statement: “Those who oppress the downtrodden people in Palestine in the name of Jews have nothing to do with the Jewish religion and the followers of the Prophet Moses today”

  14. @Rebbitzen Goldenpickanicerscreenname Your ability to consistently misinform is truly amazing. The torah does not forbid us to cause distress even to an animal. It forbids _unnecessary_ and _unsanctioned_ distress. By all means, work it, shecht it, don’t help unload it (if the owner isn’t helping), kill a predator, trap your mice, etc. Oppress people? Nothing wrong with sanctioned slavery, or wiping out amalek (pregnant women and children included), or booting the 7 nations from Israel. But sure, keep up the uninformed blanket statements.

  15. Katan, YU is a better yeshivah than Ner Yisroel. But even in NI they know that you and your entire Erev Rav are not gedolim and are Lo Mibnei Yisroel Heimo. Yossi, that includes the individual you cited. He was NOT a godol at all.
