A major social media booster of Donald Trump has waved sayonara to his support for the former president, saying that he’s “done” with him and will instead shift his support to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Bill Mitchell, whose rabid and sometimes unhinged support for Trump often garnered him attention on Twitter, announced that he was done with the former president.
Mitchell first made headlines in 2016 when his unwavering support and boosting of Trump prompted a news article titled “Donald Trump’s most unrelenting social media” surrogate.
“Ok, that’s it. I’m done. I’m off the #TrumpTrain,” Mitchell wrote. “I cannot in good conscience support a man who would tell lies about a great American to defend his own enormous ego.”
Mitchell was referencing Trump’s attacks on DeSantis which have no basis in objective reality.
“I will work with every ounce of my being to help Governor DeSantis win the nomination and the presidency,” he added.
