HOCHUL, ARE YOU LISTENING? Pelosi Says Dems Lost House Because New York’s Leaders Don’t Take Crime Seriously

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says that she believes New York Democrats are at fault for the party’s inability to keep the majority in the House of Representatives, specifically because they refuse to take the issue of crime seriously.

“She said that she believed the Democrats could have held onto the House in November if top New York pols had realized that the key issue in that state was crime,” New York Times writer Maureen Dowd wrote about a sit-down interview she conducted with Pelosi.

“The governor (Kathy Hochul) didn’t realize soon enough where the trouble was,” she said.

Republicans did, in fact, see some surprising victories in New York, including the election of Rep. Mike Lawler, who defeated a powerful longtime Democrat in NY-17, and the election Rep. George Santos, whose history of lying is now coming back to haunt him and Republicans across the nation.

Democrats have long been accused of downplaying the seriousness of crime in New York, with Republicans – and citizens of all political persuasions – demanding that their elected leaders crack down on the growing nuisance and threat to their property and safety.

  1. Yes! this thing is a creature and has absolutely no humanity in her.
It has the morals and brains of a rabies infected sewer rat.
And by the way, the hypocrisy of this witch, is absolutely mind boggling.
she has the audacity of telling off N.Y about not taking crime seriously, meanwhile this monster is representing
San Francisco in congress, where crime has been actually legalized.
Where shoplifting is not an arrestable offence anymore, where open drug use tolerated and actually encouraged.

  2. Street crime is primarily handled by local police. Voters who expect governors or federal officials to prevent crime are mistaken. Lip service does not prevent crime, but Pelosi is right that lip service can influence voters.
